Al-Qaeda affiliates in Yemen vowed on Monday to retaliate for the killing of their group leader last week, US-born Anwar Al-Awlaqi and his companions in Al-Jawf province north of Yemen. A statement by the group posted in various websites said that \"the blood of Sheikh Al-Awlaqi and his brothers will not go in vain,\" adding that \"he left behind many who will take revenge soon.\" The statement added the killing of Al-Awalqi and Samir Khan took place without evidence and due process in accordance with their \"unmerited freedom laws,\" in reference to US laws. The statement also acknowledged for the first time the killing of Awalqi, US-born but from Pakistani origin, Khan, as well as Abu Mehsen Al-Maerbi and Salem Al-Marwani who were killed by a US drone in an area between Al-Jawf and Mareb provinces.
