Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, and Sergey Lavrov, Russia's Foreign Minister, have discussed international counterterrorism efforts.
The two sides also exchanged views on a number of top regional and international issues, notably recent developments of the Palestinian cause and ways to achieve political settlements for the ongoing armed conflicts in Syria, Libya, and Yemen, the League said in a statement on Monday.
They also discussed ways to implement the resolutions reached in the Fourth Session of the Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum at the level of Foreign Ministers, held in Abu Dhabi last February.
The meeting also addressed ways to enhance economic, commercial, and investment ties between Arab countries and Russia, and benefit from the Arab-Russian forum as an important tool for boosting relations between the two sides in various fields.
