At least two people have been killed in a violent militant attack in Pakistan''s troubled southwestern Balochistan Province. The incident occurred late Sunday when unknown gunmen shot dead two individuals in Bullo Road area of Mand town near Iran border, Pakistani officials told the (Press TV) early Monday. The slain people, who belonged to eastern Punjab Province, were killed when they were going to Iran, the officials said. In another incident same day, three security forces were injured in a bomb blast in South Waziristan region in northwest Pakistan. The three security forces were left wounded when their vehicle hit a planted bomb in Satrapall area of Ladha tehsil late Sunday. Following the attack, Pakistani security forces cordoned off the area and started a search operation. Earlier on Sunday, three policemen were killed in a drive-by shooting in New Saryab, a suburb of Quetta in southwestern Balochistan Province. Balochistan is one of the most underdeveloped regions of Pakistan. Hundreds of people have been killed in Balochistan since 2004, when militants began fighting for political autonomy and a greater share of revenues from the oil and gas resources of the region.
