At least three people were killed and another five wounded in a blast in Kandahar in south Afghanistan, a police source said on Sunday. The blast occurred early on Sunday in the fourth municipal district of Kandahar. The bomb was planted near a police check point. The explosion killed three police officers and injured another two. Three passers-by were also wounded in the explosion, the police source said. The radical militant group Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack.
