Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today received a parliamentary delegation from the United Kingdom, led by Member of Parliament and House of Commons Defence Committee member, Leo Docherty MP.
According to the Bahrain News Agency, BNA, the Crown Prince said that Bahrain and the UK have held deep-rooted and strong links for over two hundred years. He added that they have developed shared interests across a wide range of economic, cultural, political and defence-related issues.
Prince Salman also recognised the UK government's active role in supporting the global fight against terrorism and preventing its illicit funding.
He reiterated that the Kingdom welcomes the development of closer ties with the UK and western allies, and is committed to further enhancing its relations to protect security and stability across the region and globally, BNA concluded.
