Deputy Premier, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, has stressed that Bahrain and India are constantly looking forward to strengthening their deep-rooted relations of friendship.
While receiving the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain, Alok Kumar, at the Gudaibiya Palace today, the deputy premier valued highly the role played by the Indian expatriate community, whose members, he said, have contributed, alongside Bahrainis, to the kingdom’s development and progress.
This is the fruitful outcome of the historical relations between the two countries’ leaderships and peoples, he said, stressing that India will remain Bahrain’s main trade and economic partner.
He pointed out that the increasing interest of the Indian businessmen in Bahrain as a host to their regional investments reflects their confidence in the local market’s stability and competitive potentials.
The Indian envoy expressed thanks and appreciation to Bahrain’s leadership, government and people for the care and interest enjoyed by the Indian community in the Kingdom, adding that he is looking forward to strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the education and health fields, through the signing of memoranda of understanding to push bilateral partnership in such two vital sectors.
