Brazil today announced that it would send 300 soldiers to participate in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), after the approval of the House of Representatives and Senate.A statement by the Brazilian Foreign Affairs Ministry said that a Brazilian Navy ship with 300 troops on board will set sail to Lebanon on October 4. The statement pointed out that the ship will be the tasked with leading a fleet of eight ships from Germany, Bangladesh, Greece, Indonesia and Turkey.Currently, the UNIFIL has more than twelve thousand troops and policemen from 35 countries.
