The Cabinet has issued Resolution No. 10m/27w, of 2017, regarding the appointment of Yousuf Yaqoob Al Serkal, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare, GAYSW.

Al Sarkal has long expertise in the sports field. He has held a number of sports and administrative posts in the country and abroad. He also chaired the UAE Football Association.

He was the Vice Chairman of the Asian Football Association and Deputy Chairman of the UAE National Olympic Committee from 2009 to 2012. He was also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Shabab Al Arab Sports Club from 1991 to 1998, as well as held other positions in the Union of Arab Football Associations and the Asian Football Confederation.
