In the framework of the "Technical Assistance to Support Youth Development in Lebanon" #PoliYouth project

In the framework of the "Technical Assistance to Support Youth Development in Lebanon" #PoliYouth project funded by the European Union and implemented by the British Council in collaboration with the American University of Beirut, the Ministry of Youth and Sports organized an event to distribute certificates to 15 of the ministry's staff who participated at the Sensitization Workshop on National Youth Policy that was endorsed by the Council of Ministers in 2012 


The event was attended by the advisors to the minister of Youth and Sports, The head of Youth Department at the ministry in addition to the project's partners. 


During the event, outcomes and deliberation of the workshops were discussed especially those related to the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats faced by the ministry staff towards the operationalization of the National Youth Policy and specifically while networking with the registered NGOs. 


This project is 2 years project with a budget of €800.000 which aims at building the capacities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Youth Forum. It will also put mechanism and strategies in place for advocacy and raising awareness around the National Youth Policy. The project will also develop models for governance and accountability for the ministry and the National Youth Policystakeholders. The project is part of the EU's "Promoting Social Justice Programme " that aims to promote human rights and social justice in Lebanon. Good governance, gender equality and human rights are at the core of this action as the programme consists in addressing core human rights and democracy concerns
