Chairman of the National Legislature, Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Omer, Monday received the visiting Canadian parliamentary delegation and discussed progress of the bilateral relations between the Sudanese and Canadian Parliaments.
In a press statement, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for External Relations at the National Assembly, Dr. Mutwakil Mahmoud Al-Tigani, said that the delegation has met with the Chairman of the Council of the States and the branch committee for North America and Canada.
He said that the two parliaments have agreed on the exchange of experiences and consolidating the bilateral relations in the monitoring and legislative fields.
Dr. Mutwakil indicated that the Canadian parliamentary delegation will visit on Tuesday North Darfur State to meet with its Governor and parliamentarians and be informed on the situation at the displaced people camps.
Meanwhile, head of the Canadian parliamentary delegation has appreciated the relations between the Sudanese and Canadian Parliaments, indicating that the meeting has discussed issues of peace, enhancing the situation and reactivating the cooperation mechanisms.
