Drydocks World

Dubai-based Drydocks World, an international service provider to the shipping, offshore, oil, gas, and energy sectors, won the Offshore and Energy category at the Lloyd’s List Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards, presented in a ceremony at the Palazzo Versace Hotel in Dubai.

The Lloyd’s List Awards reward innovative ideas and concepts that have pushed the boundaries of what is possible in the maritime industry.

The judges commended Drydocks World for developing a position as a key and vital supplier to the offshore and energy sector, with an outstanding list of construction and engineering achievements, said Drydocks in a statement.

This award recognises Drydocks World at the forefront of offshore energy, and positioning the yard as a pioneer in developing large-scale innovative technology such as the conversion of tankers to modular capture vessels for the Gulf of Mexico, the world’s largest HVDC converter platform for wind energy farms in Northern Germany, the world’s largest turret for the largest Prelude FLNG in Australia, and the Solan Subsea Oil Storage Tank for the UK Shetlands.

These completed projects confirm Drydocks World’s capabilities in delivering advanced infrastructure through understanding client objectives and following through with strong project execution.

From concept to project delivery, Drydocks World combines the yards skills to ensure excellence, carrying out complex projects according to the highest international levels of safety and quality.

The UAE has entered into a new era of world-first expansion projects, and since Drydocks World’s inauguration 33 year ago, the yard has advanced alongside the city, completing offshore energy projects that have broken records globally, the maritime and offshore service provider said.

Drydocks World intends to continue positioning the UAE on the global map as a maritime hub and the completion of these record breaking projects is the yard’s contribution towards continuing the success in the UAE, Drydocks stated
