Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Tuesday discussed over phone with his Ethiopian counterpart Workneh Gebeyehu the relations between the two countries.
During the call, Shoukry congratulated the top Ethiopian diplomat on assuming his new post, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
The two ministers discussed means of boosting the bilateral ties and cooperation in various fields.
Shoukry asserted the importance of arranging a meeting with his Ethiopian counterpart to follow up the fields of cooperation between the two countries ahead of an African summit in Addis Ababa slated for the end of this month.
He proposed to hold the meeting with the attendance of Sudan’s Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour to guarantee the political support for talks on the renaissance dam, particularly the technical studies conducted by consultancy offices.
