Egypt's Cairo Criminal Court set on Monday September 28th as the date of the verdict on former Minister of Information Anas Al-Fiki on charges of providing the Egyptian football league's broadcasting rights to privately-owned channels for free. The court authorized the defense to provide the documents and notes a week before the date of the session. Attorney General''s investigations revealed that the former minister decided, against the law, to exempt privately-owned Egyptian channels from paying the value of the 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 football league''s broadcasting rights. They added that this led to wasting $1.8 million the Radio and Television Union's expected profit.
