Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr Kamel is to leave on Wednesday for Ankara for an official visit to Turkey , his first ever visit since assuming his post . The tour will also take him to Germany . The first undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry Ambassador Ahmed Fatallah said in a statement issued here Monday that "The minister will discuss with the Turkish senior officials the whole situation in the region including what are taking place in Syria and Libya." He pointed out that a number of Palestinian officials flocked to Turkey in the recent period, including President Mahmoud Abbas, and therefore it is important for coordination between the Egyptian and Turkish sides for the future prospects for a resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations to recognize a Palestinian state. He also said, Kamel would discuss a German initiative to swap Egypt''s debts with development projects. The tour will be Kamel''s first since he was appointed last month
