Italian Foreign Minister Franco Fratini said on Friday that the Palestinian UN statehood bid is a true test of the credibility of the EU foreign policies. Italian news agency Aki reported today a statement by Fratini delivered one hour before Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas officially requested a UN membership for Palestine from UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon. He said that the Middle-East conflict is the biggest issue in the world now since signing the Lisbon agreement a year and a half ago. He stressed on the importance of a united EU policy regarding that matter.
