A person was killed and three others were injured in a hard landing of a helicopter in Russia's Vladimir region east of Moscow, a source in the law enforcement agencies told TASS on Friday.

"According to preliminary data, one person was killed and three injured in the hard landing of a helicopter on the border of the Vladimir region," he said.

Currently, two rescue teams from the Vladimir and Ivanovo regions are on their way to the emergency site. "Rescuers are trying to establish the whereabouts of the helicopter using the data provided by the crew of the Interior Ministry's helicopter," the source added.

The press service of the Russian Interior Ministry earlier told TASS that a helicopter of the ministry's special task squadron made a hard landing earlier on Friday in a forested area on the border of the Ivanovo and Vladimir regions while making a forest inspection flight. "There were four people on board, contact has been established with them," the press service said.

A commission to ascertain the circumstances and causes of the accident has been formed.
