Hungary appreciates efforts exerted by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to confront terrorism and contain the issue of illegal migration, said Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács.
In statements to Egypt's Nile TV news channel on Wednesday, he said that his country backs political stability in Egypt.
He said talks held by Presiden Sisi and Prime minister Viktor Orbán tackled main issues including combating terrorism and achieving security and stability in the Middle East, pointing out that his country is interested in boosting cooperation with Egypt.
On economic cooperation between Egypt and Hungary, the spokesman said Egypt is a major country in the Middle East and that there is a big economic chance before Egypt in the European continent.
The Hungarian spokesman said his country is ready to be the gate of Egypt to the European Union, adding that Hungary is also ready to offer its expertise to Egypt in the field of new energy and agriculture.
On the Visegrád summit, Kovács said the gathering was an opportunity to pick partners outside the European Union to take part in efforts aimed at achieving stability in Europe and the region.
