Security General Head, General Abbas Ibrahim, said that the threat of Daesh is now behind us

Security General Head, General Abbas Ibrahim, said that the threat of Daesh is now behind us.

"On the military level, the threat of ISIS has become behind us, but this does not eliminate the possibility that Lebanon could be exposed to any security threat," Abbas said on Sunday during an interview to Voice of Lebanon Radio Station.

Abbas added "it h is more difficult for them to carry out any security attacks [on the Lebanese territories], and it has become easier for us to detect such moves."

He clarified that his main mission and purpose was to bring back the abducted Lebanese soldiers to their families.

Commenting on the DNA test results, Abbas deemed that "Army Command is the one authorized to determine the appropriate timing of the announcement of the test results."

As for the Ain Hilweh Refugee Camp dossier, he reiterated the necessity to find a solution to said file, because it constitutes a security gap within the Lebanese and Palestinian body
