Russian Ambassador to Egypt Sergei Kerbachenko

Russian Ambassador to Egypt Sergei Kerbachenko asserted that 2+2 meeting between the foreign and defense ministers of Cairo and Moscow has brought about important outcome as per relations between the two countries.

Interviewed by MENA, the ambassador termed as "comprehensive and deep" the meeting held between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the two Russian ministers.

He said talks covered terrorism and means of fighting it, along with the latest developments at the regional and international levels with a special focus on the situation in Syria, Libya, Yemen, the Palestinian issue and other bilateral issues of common interest.

The ambassador went on to say that important decisions have been taken to provide Egypt with all necessary means to combat terrorism and boost cooperation with the UN and international bodies concerned with the issue.

As per the volume of trade exchange, the Russian diplomat said it reached dlrs 4 to 5 billions over the past years, voicing hope for further pushing them forward in view of Russia's plans to establish an industrial zone in the Suez Canal Corridor and the implementation of the Dhaba nuclear project.

Responding to a question on the recent terror attacks in Egypt and Russia, the Russian ambassador termed the perpetrators as "not humans or even animals" and they should be terminated.
