New York - Arab Today
Sameh Shoukry, Egyptian Foreign Minister, said, on Friday, that the time has come for the international community to take a unified stance against all parties that provide political, economic and media support to terrorist organisations, or offer them safe havens.
Shoukry made his comments during a meeting of foreign ministers of the International Coalition Against Daesh, which was held in New York on the sidelines of the 72th United Nations, UN, General Assembly.
In a statement, Ahmed Abu Zeid, Foreign Ministry Spokesman, said that Shoukry congratulated the Iraqi people for their victories against Daesh in Mosul and Tal Afar, and for liberating Iraqi territory from the control of the terrorist organisation.
"The Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed that defeating Daesh in Iraq is not the end, but it establishes a new phase of co-operation among coalition members, with the aim of eliminating all terrorist organisations and extremist ideologies without discrimination," Abu Zeid added as quoted by Ahram Online.
The last meeting of the coalition took place in Washington on 22nd March.
