Bern - Irna
Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said Tuesday the US irrational behavior towards Iran resulted from waves of democratic movements in the region annoying Washington. He made the remarks in the meetings with his Swiss and Japanese counterparts in Bern, Switzerland. Comparing Iranian approach with that of the US administration concerning the democratic movements, Larijani said the US supports dictators while Iran backs regional revolutions. “…and this is one of our (Iran) disagreements with the United States,” said Larijani. Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani criticized the restrictions on holding the Islamic ceremonies in the Swiss mosques, calling for removal of those obstacles and limitations. He then appreciated Switzerland for hosting the 125th session of the IPU. About Iran’s nuclear activities, Larijani said the US pressure on the International Atomic Energy Agency will ruin the international reputation of the UN specialized agency. Larijani’s meetings were held on the sidelines of third day of the 25th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
