The Islamic Republic of Iran and Myanmar held here Monday the second round of political consultation meeting. The meeting focusing on issues of mutual interest was chaired by Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali Fathollahi and his Myanmar counterpart. According to the Information and Press Bureau of the ministry of foreign affairs, in the meeting, the two sides explored grounds for expansion of commercial and economic cooperation besides discussing latest regional and global developments. Myanmar’s deputy foreign minister, for his part, voiced his country’s willingness for formation of Iran-Myanmar joint economic commission to help speed up the activities of the private sector in both countries. The first round of consultation meeting between the two countries was held in Myanmar last year.
