The Taliban is capable of continuing its attacks and there would be tough fights ahead of troops in Afghanistan, a senior Isaf military officials said on Monday. Addressing a press conference in Kabul, Gen. Carsten Jacobson said that Taliban have increasingly use Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and group and organised attacks that often result in civilian casualties. Gen. Jacobson highlighted the need for broadening the field of war to terminate insurgent safe havens even beyond Afghan borders. Earlier foreign military commanders stressed that the Taliban fighters have lost the momentum in most parts of the country. Recently the Taliban have stepped up gun and suicide attacks in relatively peaceful regions to target high-ranking officials as part of the Talban's attacks announced in the wake of this year.
