Tehran - Irna
Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili Thursday stressed incapability of the existing mechanisms, structures and powers which falsely pretend to be proponent of security for the entire world. Jalili is currently in Moscow to attend the second international meeting of secretaries of national security councils. The two-day meeting opened in the central Russian city of Yekaterinburg on Tuesday in the presence of representatives from 65 countries. The current international mechanism along with US and NATO are ineligible to maintain security of the globe, Jalili reiterated. He reiterated that the lack of justice within international relations is the main hinder for having a secure world. \'As far as justice is not considered as a cornerstone of international relations, one can not expect a safe world. As long as the structure of the current world can not prevent occupation and aggression and as long as some certain powers are trying to manage the security relations of the world based on the interest of a small group, one cannot expect security to prevail,\' the Iranian official noted. Insecurity in today\'s world arises from the fact that those responsible with world security seek security not for all but for very limited communities, he said, adding that they have not even brought about the security for their own people. Over 60 years after establishment of the United Nations Security Council, all should benefit from global security based on a fair system, he said. It is regrettable that in 21st century, inspite of various scientific technological and economic advancements, we are forced to talk about food security, an issue from which not only in Africa but also in the US and the Europe, the people are suffering as well, Jalili added. Occupation of Iraq without obtaining any permission from UN, massacre of thousands of innocent people in Afghanistan and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction are among examples of such unjust behavior resulting from promotion of extremism and insecurity in global affairs, he said. It is not possible to call for democracy and security with a bullying system, he said, adding that the best method is to seek contribution of all countries to help maintain global security. The Islamic Republic of Iran believes in prevailing justice over the international relations as the principal way to fight against insecurity, he emphasized.
