The flight of Saida Agrebi, one of the bosses of the ancien regime, is an exceptional case, said Justice Minister Lazhar Karoui Chebbi. The public prosecutor in charge of the case did not take the right decision to prevent such an escape, which led to his dismissal, the Minister further elaborated, in a statement to the National Television. He reminded that all other former officials against whom charges have been lodged are submitted to travel bans. On the issue of sanitisation of magistracy, Mr. Karoui Chebbi said that members of the clan that served the former regime have been either dismissed or degraded. "I wrote to the Tunisian magistrates' association and the magistrates' union asking them to provide me with a list of names of people whom they think are symbols of corruption. But I got no answer to my mails," he added. Mr. Karoui Chebbi asserted that all efforts are exerted to achieve the objectives of the Revolution, namely the consecration of the State of law, liberties and justice, stressing that Tunisia has chosen with strong resolve the path of equity and guarantee of rights.
