Kuwaiti foreign minister receives phone call from US counterpart

Kuwaiti Acting Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received a phone call from US Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday.

    During the phone call, they discussed the latest developments of the situation in the region and beyond, according to a statement by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    The statement added that Kerry reaffirmed his country's commitment to protect the security and stability of the State of Kuwait, and appreciated Kuwait's contributions to the efforts to stabilize the region, referring to Kuwait hosting of the intra-Yemeni peace talks.
