A Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation arrived here on Monday for a four-day official visit to Luxembourg with a view to strengthening political and parliamentary and economic and financial ties as well as cooperation between the two countries. The six-member delegation is headed by the Mubarak Al-Kherainej, the president of the Kuwait-Luxembourg inter-parliamentary friendship group, and chairman of the foreign affairs committee in the Kuwaiti parliament. Dr. Dhaifalla Abu Ramia , the parliament member, said in a statement he made upon arrival at Luxembourg airport, that the aim of their visit is to learn from the experience of the Luxembourg parliament and to deepen the friendly ties between the two countries. The Kuwaiti MPs are to meet Luxembourg government officials and visit financial and educational institutions and exchange views, he said, noting that Kuwait which has planned mega projects can profit from the know-how and expertise of Luxembourg. \"We will focus on the economic side because relations between countries are strengthened on the basis of economic cooperation and we hope that our visit will lead to expansion of our relations,\" added Abu Ramia. Kuwait\'\'s ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg Nabeela al-Mulla will be arriving in Luxembourg later Monday. The Kuwaiti parliamentarians during their stay in Luxembourg will visit the parliament, chamber of commerce, meet the minister of economy and trade Jeannot Krecke, and hold talks with high level representatives from Islamic banking sector. Luxembourg is considered to be an important international banking centre and a is attracting growing interest from Islamic banking.
