In a press release by the Italian Embassy in Beirut, it said: "A series of CIMIC courses organized by the Italian Bilateral Military Mission in Lebanon (MIBIL) for the staff of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and the Forces of National security ended today with a closing ceremony for the delivery of participation certificates.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of Italy in Lebanon, Massimo Marotti, the Commander of the Italian Mission, General of Brigadier Salvatore Radizza, and senior local military Authorities.
The intensive training session developed over four weeks at the CIMIC Directorate in Beirut and the courses offered, coordinated by instructors of the Multinational CIMIC Group of Motta di Livenza (Italy), allowed to develop three core functions of CIMIC Operational Function, manage the complexity of the dynamics and relation between various actors (military and non-military) in support of the missions as well as training specific figures of "functional specialists".
The trained persons were a total of 66 (including 42 Officers), carefully selected among staff already in operation or destined to the specialized branches.
The course program also included the contribution of representatives of some International Organizations (IOs) and Non-Governmental Organizations such as UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees), UNDP (United Nations Development Program), ICRC (International Committee of The Red Cross & Red Crescent) and MARCH (an NGO based in Lebanon).
The MIBIL, which operates in Lebanon since 2015, develops military assistance (training courses and practical training) in favor of the local Armed Forces and Security Forces, framing the broader international context that aims to support the institutions Lebanon
