A parliamentary team will visit Libya to pursue whereabouts of Imam Mousa Sadr, the head of Iran’s parliamentary committee to follow up Imam Mousa Sadr\'s fate Javad Karimi Qoddousi said on Wednesday. Karimi Qoddousi noted that October 16 and October 26 will be possible dates for the visit to Libya of a delegation from Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission. “We have received a great deal of information about Imam Mousa Sadr situation in Libya but we have to wait for more news about the hidden aspects of the issue,” he added Latest reports revealed that Imam Sadr has been jailed in Sirte city from long years ago; if this city as well as other cities comes under the control of Libya revolutionary forces, Imam’s case will become clearer, he said. Imam Sadr, an Iranian-born Shia cleric vanished without a trace in Libya in 1978. In August 1978, Imam Sadr departed for Libya with two companions to meet officials of Gaddafi government. They were never heard from again, and many believe they met with foul play at the hands of Gaddafi. Libya has denied responsibility, claiming that Sadr and his companions left Libya for Italy in 1978. However, many believe that Sadr is still alive and is being held in a secret jail in Libya.
