Grand Mufti Dr. Shawqi Allam said Egypt is paying a high price for fighting terrorism that claimed the lives of its youth at the hands of cowardly terrorists.
"What happened in Sinai a few days ago is not a secret to the world," Allam said, accentuating that in spite of these incidents, the Egyptian, Arab and Islamic worlds will defeat all conspiracies and agendas that seek to spread chaos in the whole world.
Speaking at the international conference on imams' training for Muslim minorities, Allam said that Egypt, with its people, civilization and history, will never be defeated by the shaking hands of terrorism and aggression.
He further stressed the importance of the timing of the conference, citing a wave of violence that is currently spreading across the globe by parties who seek to issue fatwas legitimizing violence.
Imams and preachers in the West are tasked with disseminating the upright teachings of Islam, Allam said, stressing the great importance of renewing the religious discourse and pulling the rug from under the political Islam trends that take control of the Muslim communities in the West.
