Washington - Arab Today
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denied on Thursday claims made by Israeli Minister Ayoub Kara about a plan to establish a Palestinian state in Egypt's Sinai.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with US President Donald Trump, Netanyahu stressed that Washington has never floated or discussed such an idea.
Egypt plays a vital role in providing security and stability in the Middle East region, the Israeli PM said.
Writing on Twitter a day before the first meeting between Netanyahu and Trump since the US businessman took office in January, Kara said the two leaders would give their support to a proposal to establish a Palestinian state in Gaza and the Sinai Peninsula.
