King Harald V of Norway on Wednesday bid farewell to outgoing Egyptian Ambassador in Oslo Ashraf El Moafy, Egypt's foreign ministry said in a statement.

During the meeting, the importance of the Norwegian-Egyptian relations, promoted in the last four years, were stressed.

The Norwegian foreign ministry also held a farewell ceremony for El Moafy, with participation of Norwegian diplomats and officials.

During the ceremony, a Norwegian foreign affairs official thanked El Moafy for his distinguished efforts to enhance bilateral ties binding both countries in various fields.
