The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its alarm concerning the issuance of Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) in the United States.
The organization considered the law a violation of international laws known since centuries as it breaches the sovereignty of the countries.
In a statement issued on Monday, the OIC underlined that a certain country should not impose its judicial powers on another country of sovereignty as means to exercise political and economic pressure.
The law violates the independence of the countries, the OIC underlined, noting that the JASTA will create chaos in international relations.
The organization wished that the US legislative authorities would reconsider this law to maintain regional and international peace and guarantee that the international efforts of fighting terrorism will not be negatively affected.
