Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will submit his application for full statehood on Friday, he informed the United Nations Monday. UN spokesman Martin Nesirky said Abbas and Secretary General Ban Ki-moon had held a \"constructive\" meeting. Ban discussed with Abbas the on-going Quartet\'\'s efforts to advance negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. The Quartet is composed of the UN, the European Union, Russia and the United States. Abbas also met with the Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al Arabi to discuss the Palestinian UN Bid for Statehood.
