Ramallah - QNA
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is set to visit to Beirut in mid-August at an official invitation of Lebanese President Michel Suleiman, an official source said. The visit will focus on securing Lebanese support for the Palestinian UN bid for statehood in September, as Lebanon is chairing the UN Security Council in September. Lebanon is currently the only Arab country not to have officially recognized Palestine, after Syria gave its support to a Palestinian state in July 2011. President Abbas and Suleiman will also talk about developments between the two countries, as well as discussing the situation of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.
