Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said on Sunday that message of love, unity and brotherhood should be promoted through Khanqahs (Convents).
Presiding over a Ulema convention organized by the Punjab government here, he said that country could not afford unrest, adding that one should remain stick to his religion and must not
interfere in others’ faith.
The CM said no Muslim could compromise on Khatm-e-Nabuwat (PBUH) and the entire nation was united in this regard.
He said the role of religious scholars was of prime importance in promoting peace and tolerance besides achieving the real destination of the nation.
Shehbaz Sharif said that religious scholars should play their role in making a peaceful society.
He said that Pakistan was created in the name of Islam and solution to the country’s problems lies in following the guidelines of Quran and Sunnah.
He said that Pakistan was going through a delicate time and could not afford any chaos.
Disputes, bilateral divisions and internal differences were harmful for the country’s prestige and integrity, he added.
He said that current situation in Pakistan demands mutual consensus for which religious scholars have to play a key role.
The CM said that participation in today’s ceremony was honourable for him because of great personalities present there.
Furthermore, he shared that faith on Khatm-e-Nabuwat (PBUH) and love for the last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) is the basis of our religious identity, social survival, and national stability.
It is also necessary to follow the true message of Islam with faith on the last prophecy, he added.
Shehbaz Sharif said spreading rumours against other people was neither a service for Pakistan nor for Islam.
He said that creating turmoil either intentionally or unintentionally was like serving the purpose of terrorists and enemies.
The chief minister said sit-ins had damaged national economy pretty much, therefore, I request you all to refrain from it and stay united.
The CM said the holy life of the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) is a beacon of light for us.
He said, “We have to review that to what extent we have followed the order of fair distribution of wealth, and how far this message of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) is being conveyed”.
Like every Muslim could die in the love and honour of the ‘Risalat’ and in the same way we have to follow the golden teachings of our beloved holy Prophet (PBUH) in true spirit, he added.
Moreover, he added following the teachings of Islam, we have to make Pakistan an ideal state according to the dream of Quaid and Iqbal. Everyone including politicians, judges, journalists, officers, doctors, engineers, and every person have to pay their national duty in this regard.
He said that the Pakistani nation rendered sacrifices for peace of the whole world. He said that 21 million people of Pakistan had made decision to move ahead and get our destination with unity by acting upon the teachings of our beloved Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the faith on Khatam-e-Nabuwat (Finalitity of Prophethood) is a part of our faith.
He said that Qadyanis are non-Muslims, adding that PML-N leadership and the government were playing their part to protect this belief.
Provincial Minister Aqaf, Zaem Hussain Qadri while addressing the convention said that Sufiya-e-Karam and Mashishkh Azam had played a key role in the movement of formation of Pakistan and had supported Quaid-i-Azam.
As you have played a role in establishing Pakistan, in the same manner, your role for its completion was inevitable and we would keep seeking guidance from you, he shared.
The ceremony was attended by the spiritual leaders of the famous Mudaaris, Mashaikh, Gaddi Nasheen and Sajjadgan of Punjab.
It was stated in the joint statement of Ulema Convention that “In the formation and sustainability of Pakistan, the role of Mashaikh, Gaddi Nasheen, Sajjadgan or spiritual personalities is a bright
chapter of our history”.
The innate conditions of our beloved country were prerequisite that all these religious leaders would always play their active role for national solidarity, domestic stability, sectarian harmony, and consolidation of the overall peace and security.
“We assure the whole nation through Punjab government that all “Durgaahain” and “Aastanay” were well aware of the needs and demands of national defence, and when needed, we would stand united like a firm mounted wall with the whole nation.
Faith on Khatm-e-Nabuwat (PBUH) and love for the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) is the basis of our religious identity, social survival, and national stability. The present parliamentarians
and the government were always on its guard.
In this wonderful consultation convention, spiritual personalities and religious leaders also agreed that the realm of the monastery system according to which monastery used to be center of every knowledge, should be resurrected.
The scholars also agreed that amid the suffering and grievances of today’s Muslim, seeking guidance from the revolutionary and reforming ideas of scholars was dire need of hour which directs
our lives to be enlightened with continuous struggle towards high aims.
More than 150 ulema and mashaikh attended the convention. The mashaikh presented a number of suggestions for the promotion of religious harmony, tolerance and peace in society.
The CM applauded these suggestions.
Later, Pir Riaz Hussain Shah of Jamaat Ahle Sunnat Pakistan prayed for the elevation of Islam and development as well as stability of the country.
