Egypt and Russia

 Russian Ambassador in Cairo Sergi Kerbashenko said he is proud of relations between the Egypt and Russia, particularly personal ties between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

In statements to MENA Sunday night on the sidelines of celebrating Russia's national day in Egypt, the Russian diplomat expected direct flights between Moscow and Cairo will be resumed soon.

He also expected Egypt and Russia will soon sign contracts to build the first Egyptian nuclear station in Dabaa area on the Mediterranean Coast.

Moscow attaches great importance to establishing a Russian industrial zone in Egypt, he added. 

On Sunday, the Russian embassy celebrated Russia Day to commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) on June 12, 1990.
