Senegal\'s President Abdoulaye Wade has proposed moving up a presidential elections scheduled for February 26, 2012. If \"the opposition is in a hurry and sure\" it will win, \"I can see an early presidential election, if that is necessary for social cohesion and national harmony,\" said Wade, in front of members of his government. He said the constitution provides for an early presidential election within \"a minimum of 40 days and a maximum of 60 days\" of a decision to hold it. Wade\'s speech comes three weeks after the riots, which broke out on June 23, injuring about 100 people.
