The European campaign to End the siege on Gaza (ECESG) announced today that 12 European countries will participate with vessels they own individually or jointly in the \'\'Freedom Flotilla 2\'\', scheduled to be launched late next month. The Brussels-based campaign said in a press release that ships from European countries namely: France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland, along with ships from seven other countries recently announced readiness to join the flotilla next month. The Campaign added that the humanitarian ships, which will carry a number European Parliament members along with hundreds of activists, will set sail from ports in France, Germany and Italy, in addition to other European ports that will be announced later. Earlier ECEDG called for world protection for the humanitarian aid fleet. The campaign described, in a press release, that the Israeli threats against the fleet as a violation of the international law and doctrines. It pointed out that Israeli navy boats fired at a Malaysian ship at international waters last week while en route to Gaza carrying relief material, warning that the same scenario could be pursued against the Freedom Flotilla 2. It also recalled that the Israeli attack on the first freedom flotilla in May last year killed nine activists and wounded tens others .
