Slovenian parliament

The Slovenian parliament on Thursday passed amendments to the aliens act that would allow police to shut its borders to illegal migrants.

The amendments were supported by 47 to 18 votes, Slovenian News Agency STA reported.

The amendments allow for special emergency measures that would deny entry to people arriving at the borders in extraordinary circumstances for a limited period and a pre-defined area.

They also allow Slovenian police to expel migrants and refugees who have entered Slovenia irregularly.
