Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Sunday that the Islamic awakening in the Middle East and North Africa is a great incident that has been unique since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran. Supreme Leader: Regional Islamic awakening is unique Ayatollah Khamenei made the remark in a meeting with the heads of three branches of power, top military commanders of the armed forces, senior statesmen and officials in Tehran on Sunday. “We should consider both negative and positive aspects together. We should avoid dealing with absolute positivism and negativism,” the Supreme Leader said while referring to the very extraordinary situation of the world, particularly the Middle East and North Africa. He noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran is now known as a respectful, influential and accredited country. “They (enemies) wanted to overthrow the Islamic Republic system, but they failed to do so because the people thwarted numerous threats,” the Supreme Leader said.
