Saqr Nasser Al Raisi, UAE Ambassador to Italy, has participated in the first Arab-Italian Business Forum, which took place at the Chamber of Commerce in Milan and saw the attendance of Angelino Alfano, Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In his opening speech, Alfano highlighted the importance of promoting and enhancing joint Arab-Italian investments while adding that the forum is an excellent opportunity to learn about related available opportunities. The Arab-Italian Chamber of Commerce is a bridge of communication between Italy and Arab countries, he further added.
Al Zayani affirmed that Italy occupies the fourth position with regards to the level of international trade of Arab countries with other nations and the first place with regards to Bahrain’s annual foreign trade exchange, reaching US$400 million. He also highlighted the importance of promoting communication between Italian and Bahraini companies, the developments taking place in the business sector in Bahrain, and its willingness to host the second edition of the Forum.
Juma Mohammed Al Keet, Ministry of Economy Assistant Under-Secretary for Foreign Trade Affairs, participated in several seminars that were held as part of the Forum, where he briefed their audience about the UAE leadership’s facilitation of investments, which is in line with the country’s development and openness while providing an opportunity for Italian companies to strengthen their local presence.
