The United Arab Emirates, UAE, pays special attention to the development of renewable energy and food security, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Legal Affairs, told the concluding session of the Ministerial Meeting of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) in New York on Thursday.
As Chair of ACD, the UAE gathered foreign ministers and representatives of the 34-member body on the sidelines of the 72nd Session of the United Nation General Assembly as part of its mandate to energise the Asian organisation.
He said outcomes of the 15th Ministerial Meeting of Asian Cooperation Dialogue, ACD, convened in Abu Dhabi on 17th January 2017, under the "Abu Dhabi, the Capital of Sustainable Energy," demonstrated the UAE's commitment to boost cooperation among member states in renewable energy and sustainability.
ACD was established in 2002 to foster cooperation amongst its members to increase the competitiveness of Asia through dialogues and joint projects.
