UAE-Indian Joint Consular Commission holds second meeting in Abu Dhabi

The UAE-Indian Joint Consular Commission held its second meeting today at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation in Abu Dhabi to discuss issues related to facilitating the interests of citizens of both countries in a bid to bolster their bilateral political, economic, security and investment relations.

The UAE delegation was headed by Ahmed Elham Al Dhaheri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation while the Indian delegation was led by Dnyaneshwar M. Mulay, Secretary of Consular, Passport, Visa and Overseas Indian Affairs (CPV/OIA) at the Ministry of External Affairs.

The UAE-India relations have witnessed positive developments in all areas of consular co-operation in the service of citizens of both countries, Al Dhaheri stressed.

The meeting reflects the growing relations between the two countries and provides a significant opportunity for promoting and expanding bilateral relations in various spheres, Al Dhaheri said, adding that consular matters of common concern were discussed at the meeting.

Mulay thanked the UAE for preparing for, and hosting the meeting, and stressed that India takes a keen interest in developing relations with the UAE in various spheres.

Al Dhaheri and Mulay also signed the minutes of the meeting.
