The sixth UAE-Iran Joint Consular Committee meeting begun Monday in at the headquarters of the Iranian Foreign Ministry in Tehran. The UAE delegation was led by Foreign Minister''s Assistant for Political Affairs Dr. Tarek Ahmed Al Heidan, while the Iranian side was headed by Hassan Qashqavi, Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Expatriate Affairs. At the beginning of the session, Qashqavi assured the development of bilateral relations between the two countries, pointing out that high-level bilateral visits demonstrate better relations between the two sides in various fields. For his part, Al Heidan said that Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan pays special attention to bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, in particular the Joint Consulate Committee. "WAM" news agency quoted him as saying that the Joint Committee has made significant stride in achieving its goals and it is hoped that it will continue to make more progress. The committee is discussing the prospects for cooperation between the two countries and ways of developing them in consular and visas fields and facilitating the mobility of citizens of both countries
