United States Secretary of State John Kerry will pay next month a visit to the Japanese city of Hiroshima which will make him the highest ranking US official to have visited the iconic park to lay flowers at the memorial dedicated to the victims of the world’s first nuclear attack.Kerry will join members of the G7 including Britain and France who will also visit Hiroshima.US President Barack Obama previously visited Japan three times but he didn’t visit Hiroshima which is best known as the first city in history to be targeted by a nuclear weapon when the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) dropped an atomic bomb on the city at 8:15 a.m. on August 6, 1945, near the end of World War II.
