The US State Department, Thursday, announced that Americans should avoid traveling to Libya due to the threat of terrorist attacks.

"The Department of State warns US citizens against all travel to Libya and recommends that US citizens currently in Libya depart immediately," the statement read. "The security situation in Libya remains unpredictable and unstable, and extremist groups continue to plan terrorist attacks against US interests," according to the statement.
