Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali discussed on Tuesday cooperation with the Swiss and Dutch ambassadors to Egypt.
During a meeting with Swiss Ambassador to Egypt Markus Leitner, Wali tackled Egyptian-Swiss relations and fields of joint cooperation particularly in the social domains.
The minister also expounded various services offered by the ministry, including rehabilitation of the disabled and the role played by care centers for old people and orphans and homeless children, the ministry said in a released statement.
The minister also discussed her ministry's efforts serving the low-income brackets, including Cottage Products Project, social solidarity pensions and the Solidarity and Dignity Program.
The program, which started last year, is a mechanism aims to develop the social protection systems and is linked with development indicators to boost the basic rights of poor families and empowering them economically and socially.
On the other hand, the minister received Dutch Ambassador in Cairo Laurens Westhoff who took office recently, and briefed him on the ministry's activities and protection programs and
discussed the embassy's plans to offer grants to civil society agencies in coordination with the ministry.
