Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali had talks with Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Amina J. Mohammed on means of boosting cooperation between the Arab Group in New York and the international organization in realizing sustainable development to curb poverty rates.
Mohammed attended an event - organized by Wali in tandem with the Arab League - on the fringe of the United Nations High-level Political Forum, the Social Solidarity Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
Mohammed extolled the role played by the committee formed by the Arab summit held in Jordan to implement Resolution 699 on terrorism and social development.
She underlined the importance of peace and security in the Arab region to eradicate poverty and achieve sustainable development.
