Senior Egyptian justice official Assem el-Gohari disclosed Monday that the wealth of former president Hosni Mubarak\'s sons, Alaa and Gamal, amounts to two billion Egyptian Pounds (about 336 million U.S. dollars). Alaa and Gamal are owners of the majority of a total of 410 million Swiss Francs (about 456 million U.S. dollars), funds frozen by Switzerland, Gohari was quoted by the official news agency MENA as saying. The elder son Alaa owns alone 300 million dollars, he added. Referring to Hussein Salem, a close friend of Mubarak, Gohari said that the wealth of the fugitive businessman together with his son Khaled and daughter Magda exceeds 24 billion Egyptian Pounds ( about 4.03 billion U.S. dollars). Swiss authorities are holding investigations against Alaa, former tourism minister Zuheir Garana and businessman Yassin Mansour on charges of money laundering and gangs formation, Gohari added.
